Thursday
Atlanta @ Green Bay – Michael Penix Jr. should return Thursday which should help the Falcons. They certainly need all the help they can get at this early part of the season. The Packers escaped the Jets in no small part to a few late coaching errors by New York. The Packers have yet to start clicking on both sides of the ball leaving the fan base concerned. Sunday
Los Angeles Chargers @ Buffalo – The Chargers are 0 – 2, that’s the good part. They have played sloppy on both sides of the ball and with their schedule, they may be out of the playoff hunt by Halloween. The Bills are looking once again as a Super Bowl contender. Bills 31 Chargers 20
Carolina @ Cleveland – The Panthers destroyed the Falcons last week while the Brown put together a road win in Tampa. The Panthers continue to score a lot of points and their defense rebounded against the Falcons. The Browns are still looking for consistency. Carolina 27 Brown 23
New York Jets @ Detroit – The Jets blew a victory last week against the Packers, while the Lions had their doors blown off in Buffalo. The Lions play has been less than stellar so far. It’s time for the Lions to start biting kneecaps. Lions 34 Jets 20
Houston @ Indianapolis – It’s still early but the 0 – 2 Texans have been a disappointment so far. The Colts are 0 -2 as well, but they did force the NFL darling Chiefs into overtime last week. Colts 23 Texans 20
New England @ Jacksonville – The Patriots have yet to click on offense while the Jags let a win slip away last week in Denver. The Jags get back on track this week. Jags 31 Patriots 23
Kansas City @ Miami – The over-hyped Chiefs play the worst team in the NFL. Chiefs 34 Miami 13
Tennessee @ New York Giants – Jaxson Dart is out with a knee, but that is no excuse why the Giants defense played so poorly against the Rams. Tennessee is 0 – 2 but they’re better than the record may indicate. The Giants must rely on their ground game. Giants 23 Titans 17
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh – Aaron Rodgers is already playing the blame game which isn’t a good sign this early in the season. The Bengals are playing well on both sides of the ball especially on defense. Bengals 31 Steelers 20
Seattle @ Washington – Drew Lock played well stepping in for an injured Sam Darnold and the Seahawk defense is playing great. Jayden Daniels is out for Washington but their bright spot in the defense. They are good enough to keep things close but not good enough to win games. Seattle 27 Washington 10
Arizona @ San Francisco – This game looks like a mismatch. The 49ers are 2 – 0 and on a roll while the Cardinals were rolled at home against Seattle. 49ers 34 Cardinals 17
Minnesota @ Tampa – The Vikings sit atop the NFC North with a 2 – 0 record. Their offense is average at best, but their defense is one of the best in the league. Tampa is 0 – 2 including a home loss last week against the Brown. This could be a great game, but I’m liking the latest version of the Purple People Eaters. Vikings 24 Vikings 17
Las Vegas @ New Orleans – Both teams are somewhat of a surprise in how well they have played so far this early season. The Raiders (2 – 0) beat the Chargers on the road by 12 while the Saints had their own road success beating Baltimore by 7. This game is a coin flip. Raiders 27 Saints 24
Baltimore @ Dallas – Another stupid international game, this one taking place in Rio. Both teams arrive with a 1 – 1 record with Dallas winning last week against Washington while the Ravens fell flat late against the Saints. Ravens 27 Dallas 24
Sunday Night
Los Angeles Rams @ Denver – This should be an interesting game with both teams evenly matched. Rams 31 Broncos 24
Monday Night
Philadelphia @ Chicago – This was already going to be a difficult game for the Bears. To be generous, their defense is average at best and as of this writing, Caleb Williams and his backup, Tyson Bagent probably are out for the game leaving Case Keenum as their next man up. If the Eagles don’t get lost going to Soldier Field, they should win easily. Eagles 31 Bears 17
