Season 11 – 5
Thursday
Washington @ Green Bay – Both teams ended Week One posting impressive wins over the Giants and Lions respectively. I’m giving a slight edge to the Packers. Their win over the Lions was more impressive, but this should be a great game. Packers 27 Washington 24
Sunday
Cleveland @ Baltimore – This should be a lock for the Ravens coming off their one-point loss to the Bills last Sunday night. But the Browns came dangerously close to beating the Bengals, falling 17 -16. Ravens 34 Browns 10
Jacksonville @ Cincinnati – The Bengals escaped with a narrow win at Cleveland last week while the Jaguars took care of business at home against Carolina. This is a hard game to figure out. Are the Jags that good and are the Bengals that mediocre? Bengals 24 Jaguars 20
NY Giants @ Dallas – The Cowboys played better than expected against Philly only losing by four points, while the Giants managed only 6 points in their opening loss to Washington. The clock is ticking for a quarterback change in New York. Dallas 31 Giants 17
Chicago @ Detroit – The Bears didn’t show up for the fourth quarter last week resulting in a comeback victory for the Vikings. But the headline for this week is how poorly the Lions played in their 14-point loss to the Packers on the road. This game should tell us a lot about the future of both teams. Detroit 31 Bears 24
New England @ Miami – The pressure in Miami is already building after their 25-point blowout loss to the Colts Sunday. A repeat performance this week may result in a coaching change sooner rather than later. The Patriots lost last Sunday but they at least have an upside. Miami 27 New England 20
San Francisco @ New Orleans – The 49ers traveled to Seattle and came away with a 4-point win while the Saints fell to the Cardinals by a touchdown. The Saints face a much better team this week which will result in the same outcome. 49ers 30 Saints 17
Buffalo @ NY Jets – The Jets played well against the Steelers and should have won the game. The Bills fought back late and defeated the Ravens by one point. This should be an entertaining game, but the more talented Bills will prevail. Bills 37 Jets 27
Seattle @ Pittsburgh – The Steelers had a nice come from behind win over the Jets while the Seahawks lost a close game to the 49ers. Confidence is riding high in Pittsburgh. Steelers 27 Seahawks 20
LA Rams @ Tennessee – The Rams won a defensive struggle against Houston last week winning 14 – 9. The Titans faced a lot of problems in their road loss to the Broncos. The Rams must start finding the endzone while the Titans continue to rebuild. Rams 24 Titans 18
Carolina @ Arizona – The Panthers are bad, and Arizona is not as bad. Cardinals 27 Panthers 20
Denver @ Indianapolis – The battle for the Peyton Manning Trophy as the Colts come into the game following an impressive blowout win over the Dolphins. The Broncos took care of business against a weak Titans team in their 8-point victory. Denver 24 Colts 17
Philadelphia @ Kansas City – A rematch of last year’s Super Bowl with the same result. Eagles 31 Chiefs 27
Atlanta @ Minnesota – Atlanta lost by 3 at home against the Buccaneers while the Viking rallied to defeat the Bears on the road. This game could be exciting with two young QBs trying to find their knitch. Vikings 24 Atlanta 20
Monday Night
Tampa @ Houston – Both teams didn’t play very well in their respective opening games, but the Bucs came away with a win while Houston fell to the Rams by 4 points. I’m going against my better judgment, but…. Houston 31 Tampa 30
LA Chargers @ Las Vegas – The Chargers posted an impressive victory against the Chiefs in Brazil last week while the Raiders went to New England and came away with Pete Carrol’s first win as Raiders’ HC. This is an old AFL rivalry game, but the Chargers have a little better talent. Chargers 27 Raiders 24
