Chicago — Sheri’s Ranch, a legal brothel and adult resort near Las Vegas, has incorporated experiential events into its programming, broadening how new and returning guests engage with the property.
That approach will be on display May 22–23 with “Rio & Romance: Carnivale,” a two-night, Brazilian-inspired event held on-site at the licensed resort in Pahrump, about an hour west of Las Vegas.
Sheri’s Ranch launched its event series in 2024, and management says the concept has seen consistent success. The resort now hosts two weekend-long events each year as part of its programming.
The event is designed to give new guests a more approachable entry point, while also creating a social, celebratory environment for returning clients, many of whom attend with their favorite courtesans.
“America has a complicated relationship with sex—it’s used to sell just about everything, yet there are very few places where adults can comfortably and safely experience it,” said Dena, madam of Sheri’s Ranch. “Every essential human need has a legal marketplace—food, clothing, housing—but licensed sex work is often pushed into the shadows because of stigma. That’s why we create opportunities for adults to explore it openly and responsibly, and to better understand the value of regulated environments—where sex workers operate safely and prosperously, and client expectations are exceeded.”
“For some guests, this is their first time stepping into a legal brothel, and the event gives them a way to do that without pressure or judgment,” Dena added. “For others, it’s a chance to come back and celebrate with someone they already know and take that connection to another level.”
Tickets are $70 per night and include dinner and two drinks. Entry to the bar area remains free, while access to the event space requires a ticket. Intimate experiences, if desired, are not included and are negotiated separately on-site with a courtesan.
Friday night, “The Streets of Rio,” features a live drum line, roaming performers, outdoor games and dance lessons, followed by a staged show with samba dancers, a vocalist, acrobats, and a hula hoop performance.
Saturday night, “Midnight in Lapa,” shifts to a more intimate setting, beginning with an outdoor experience and moving into a lantern-led procession into the main tent. Performances include a fire dancer, LED entertainer, tango showcase, and Capoeira artists.
The madam says events like these draw a mix of new and returning clients, including many who plan their visits around specific weekends and seek out unique experiences while in the Las Vegas area.
