Chicago – EMMReport talks with alt-performer and producer Michelle Masque about her self-produced Alien short, a 20-minute solo sci-fi piece that utilizes virtual production techniques to create Alien imagery, tentacle debauchery, and raw porn perfection.
Masque shot the film over two days with one cameraman-co-producer. She led the vision for a virtual spaceship environment in Unreal Engine on a green screen, wrote the script around key Alien camera moves, and centered the action on a Hankey’s Toys alien replica dildo that the company sent her after she advertised it at the AltPorn Awards. The result is practical toy play against a fully virtual backdrop. She is currently finishing the edit, aiming for a 2027 release targeting film festivals. The project also sharpened her behind-the-camera skills; she now applies the same green-screen and Unreal techniques on a small VR production set.
“I really wanted to open up the opportunity to locations for smaller budget independent films… so that I’d have this passion project to continue learning how to create it and share it with more people,” Masque said.
